Default Best headlight Setup?

I've got a 65 I use as a daily driver. I rarely use this car at night but when I do, I hope there are other cars on the road to light my way. I did the headlight relay trick to help get more power to the lights, but saw only marginal improvement. I figure, since I have the same headlights in that where there since I bought the car years ago, and who knows how long before then... Its time for new headlights. This is where My questions begin. I have done some research into this situation and have found three options that appeal to me.
Autozone has the sylvania replacement lights for super cheap. (Like 15 bucks or so.) Would I see an improvement over my current headlights or just a waste of the money?
My second option is the halogen headlight pair from cjponyparts. They look like a good middle of the road option. But are they much better that the cheapo sylvanias? they are listed at 33 for the pair.

The third option is the Hella E-code conversion kit. I have heard nothing but the best reviews for these headlights but at almost 90 bucks for the pair are they going to make a difference that I'm really going to see?

I know they're not Dot approved, but that doesn't concern me.
What do you guys think? I'm not in the habit of wasting money just because someone says its "the best" but I do believe in buying quality.
I know I haven't mentioned xenon, but something about them doesn't appeal to me. maybe you can change my mind?

The CJPonyparts setup is what you want. The H4 bulbs are interchangeable. if you don't like they way they look, pickup brighter or different temperature bulbs for under $15. The Hella setup at $90 will be basically the same housing with different H4 bulbs in them.

the 7" Hella Vision H4 with 55/100 watt bulbs. if you want really bright driving lights put a 65-66 GT light bar with L4509 or L4313 landing lights on. these are the Hellas to get > http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=136 these are great lights and legal with the 55/60 watt h4 bulb. the HB2 designation means the light filiment is in the correct position. some cheep h4 bulbs are made so sloppy the filament is in the wrong position. all Hella H4 bulbs are made to HB2 standards. ben using these for many years. the Hella has an all glass lens that doesnt cloud over with age.

I run the Hella lights with HB2 bulbs (bought from Summit - about $80 a pair, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLA-002395301/) and they are as good as lights on new cars. They have a cut beam so it doesn't blind the guy in front of you but focuses the light on the road. If you want more light you can put in H4 bulbs but they are not needed. They are also DOT approved. I upgraded my wiring (the whole car is rewired) and run them with relays.

Has anyone tried the Halo lights with the H4 bulbs from CJ? I"m thinking these would look really cool on modified cars.

I bought a pair of Tri-bar LED HALO lights, just finished installing the relay harness, and hope to have the lights installed in the next week or so. I intend to use the HALO as turn signals, since my R-Type Valence doesn't have knock-outs for turn signals.

Very cool! You'll have to keep us posted with how they light up the road. I think they are cool looking for sure.

I used Sylvania Silverstar Halogens because they look original rather than the flat face of most H4 units. The key is using relays to avoid depending on the headlight switch to deliver the power. Without full voltage, no headlight going to deliver it's full potential.
