I'm not angry, just had to laugh because most of the things you listed as bad thing, my car has! Except of course the GT350 stripe on the side.
I know where you are coming from, some of the "clones" or "tributes" I have seen are just how many badges or stripes they can put on but the cars in this thread are examples of how well done a coupe can be "Shelby-ized"
No hard feelings, I didn't build my car to please others, I am glad when I get a compliment but I have to take criticizm as well

And DodgeStang, what's wrong with my steering wheel? I didn't like that BIG foam thing on the 67 wheel and a 66 wouldn't fit so I made my own center. I actually made that when I was in HS!

Have a set of those re-moveable vinyl decals made like a window cling, then you can switch back and forth on a whim!

I think it looks good, and I also agree with your statement, sometimes less is more... Tough call.

I have some original 429 SCJ valve covers, do you think I should use those instead?

What about the stripe with GT SC just on the scoop?

I agree 1,000%. I enjoy "clones" and "recreations" because you can pay homage to the Shelbys, Bosses, etc... with the ability to drive it without fear of damaging it! If I had all the money in the world I wouldn't buy an old Shelby because I would be too worried to drive and I wouldn't be able to mod it either. I do dislike it when someone randomly throws on a random cobra emblem on their mustang or "gt 350" side stripe with nothing else done to the car. It is not paying homage, it is just lazy in my opinion. I also find it sad when I see a beautifully done clone - until you raise the hood and find a stock i6 or plain 289 2brrl. Paying homage to a Shelby it should also be your goal, like the OP, to have similar performance ratings. If you don't then I think it is very poser-ish

My thought is if you do the GT350 theme, do everything but the Le Mans stripes.

that's what I would suggest as well. Also do some research on the Shelby notchback race cars for some ideas.

re-reading the posts, I don't think anyone was offended. You specially asked for "...Thoughts? Suggestions?..." and that's what you got, basically just our opinions.

I have owned my coupe now for a year and went through the same desires, not all of us can afford a fastback and I have seen several well done GT350 clones (coupe) that if done with period correct pieces look incredible.

I wish you luck, at the end of the day these are our personal statements and all should be respected, it's all just a matter of personal taste. (unless its painted pink )

Thanks!

OP - I think that the green and white shelby look looks fantastic on a coupe as displayed by a previous poster. Gloss black or satin black would also be nice if you wanted to be a little bit different. Every time you see your car you will say "I'm glad I went with my gut, I love my car!" instead of "wow I wish I would have painted it green..."

Tarafied1 - I am not a fan of Eleanors (only have seen one FB in flat black that I liked), not generally a chrome rim fan, nor of red interiors - but your coupe looks fantastic! It just flows very well and the stance is the icing on the cake to make one great looking coupe.

Bucket Lister, could you post a few more pictures of your car? That's the first coupe I've seen in hertz colors done well. Very well, actually.
