Default Extended breather caps and Monte Carlo bar

I posted a few weeks back about oil getting into my pcv valve (I had to remove baffles to clear my roller rockers). Here is my solution, I made some extensions and welded them onto my valve covers. I then used baffles grommets. I also added a Monte Carlo bar and new air filter while I was at it. Here's how it turned out:

Thanks, I am also adding an oil catch can inline from the pcv to the carb. Hopefully all this work will get rid of my problem.

trkpny2 I also wanted to ask you about your front spoiler. is that a custom piece? Looks good.

I was thinking of doing an oil catch can too. Just in case, you never know!

Nice job! Why is your solenoid mounted upside down? Does it have to do with a relocated battery?

Probably so it makes the positive side closer to the rear, which means less cable. I was thinking of doing something like that, except going as far as relocating it in a more "hidden" area and so I don't have to run as much 2 gauge cable. I could probably trim a foot or 2 off if I can find a closer spot for the solenoid.

To be honest, I didn't know it was upside down. haha. I should have mounted it in the trunk so my positive wasn't hot all the time...

Tarmac, when I get around to hooking up my catch can, I'll post some pics. I think it will work pretty sweet. I was going to build one, but found one on ebay for $15. Looks pretty good, I had to clean out a couple metal shavings and re seal the fittings on the top with silicon, but I think it will work well.

Oh, nice.

Hoses look a bit small, though. I ran an oil catch can on both my previous cars, 09 STI and 03 M3. I think the hoses to and from the engine for the catch can were around 5/8" inner diameter.

Yeah the fittings on the catch can are like 3/8" so I will run 3/8" hose from the pcv to the catch can, then that smaller dia. hose from the can to the vacuum port on the carb. I don't have any large dia. vacuum ports, so hopefully that setup will work.

Hopefully it does! As long as they don't get clogged, if there is even any blow-by, then you should be good!

gikort, yes and no about the front spoiler being custom. It is a Maier Racing front spoiler that has been on the car for about 34 years now. (yes I'm old). After hitting things and fixing the fiberglass I cut it down to what it is now. I also fiberglassed the turn signal holes and added the brake cooling ducts. While I was at it I closed up the gaps around the bumper mounts and add aluminum trim around the lower radiator inlet and a screen. I also cut a slot where the tow eye exits the body. Other than that its the stock Maier piece.
