I think DJMabe has a point with the look for the vert. I like the teardrop on the Thunderbolt, or a fastback with 15" Cragar SS's, but it wouldn't go well with my 18s and more of a restomod look convertible.

The 68 style might work; sent them an email asking if they had a pic of it after paint, as it's kinda hard to envision the finished product.

I have considered a 2" cowl, but would really like to find a wider one that runs all the way out to the body lines that are about two inches in from the hood edges.

I really am not sure what I want--it's kinda one of those "I'll know it when I see it" things. Keep them coming!

Here's a pic of the sharp vert owned by Ken Schall, it should give you a good idea of what yours would look like.

Thanks! For some reason I was thinking Ken's car had the GT500 front fascia. This helps a lot!

Got an email back from KAR--they don't have pics, because every one they've sold was unpainted, and per George, every buyer promised to send pics and nobody has.

Probably like me, and are taking forever to finish, so they haven't gotten theirs painted yet. Was really hoping to see that blue FB with a painted hood.

I used a Cougar Eliminator hood scoop from Maier Racing. It looks like a Boss 429 but shorter and a little wedge shape to it.

Do you have any other pics besides the ones in your album? Hard to get a good idea from the one side view.

Still love your car BTW.

Anyone have any experience with Composite-Tech hoods (I think that's the manufacturer name)? Looking for info on quality, etc. I was talking in my garage earlier about trying to find a Cobra R style hood, and BAM:

67-68 Mustang Cobra R 3" Hood, Composite-Tech Just $489.00. Ram air, cowl induction hoods and more at CarHoods.com

Here's a gallery with several shots of the hood installed. Customers Photo Gallery - Mustang Hood

I like that Cougar Eliminator scoop.

I have never been a fan of tear drop hoods.

As for the Shelby hoods, I much prefer the 67 over the 68.

If I had a 67-68, I think it would probably have the turn signal hood. I wish someone made that hood for a 65-66.

Next time I run across a jacked up coupe for $300 I'm going to buy it and slap one of their fiberglass fastback bodies on it

I was looking at this hood as well and the company is near Daytona Beach, FL, which is about 45 minutes from where I am at. The company makes the hood once it is purchased. They do sell two types of hoods.. One that is light weight for racing and one that uses the stock hinges. The fins are not cut out on either hood, so you would half to do that if you want them to be functional. I was going to Turkey Rod Run this year so I emailed them but they were not going so I was not able to see the quality of the hoods. If you look at the hood on the mustang, it looks a little like a dome shape, which im not sure if it goes with the lines of the mustang.

They also give you a discount if you send in pictures of your mustang with the hood on it, but I would confirm that if your going to order the hood.

Shag- Let me know if you find out more.

I agree that there's a definite dome to the hood; it's basically the 2000 Cobra R hood modification applied to our hood. I need the extra couple of inches of height over my intake, and I've always liked that design. Cutting out the vents wouldn't be a problem.

I would love to have a turn signal hood, as that's always been my favorite (had it on my 68 when I was 16). Problem is it won't clear my intake.

Has anyone ever seen or tried to modify either a stock hood or a turn signal hood by raising the center section? I've been thinking on this a lot the last day or so. My ideal hood would follow the stock lines, but at the body line that parallels the fender (two or so inches inboard of the fender line) instead of rising up about an inch, I'd like to bring that up an additional two inches, probably not a straight vertical rise, but somehow blended/curved like the current rise). Then I could either run a straight turn-signal hood on the top, or possibly even increase the turn signal cutouts and indents (the sculpted metal that flows back toward the back of the hood, for lack of a better term) to more of a deep draw style.

Not sure if that description makes sense or not. What I'm contemplating is leaving the front edge of the hood attached, then grafting in the height increase along the aforementioned body lines.

Has it been done before?

But I hope I'm wrong and someone is making another of it's kind.

that late model style Cobra R hood looks awful on a classic. It just looks so out of place.

I have been tempted to cut out the divider in the center of my Shelby scoop and open up the scoop some. I like the scoops, and I love 68EFIvert's but I like the scoops moulded in for a clean look.
