Default Anyone have photos of 20 inch rims and 19 on a fastback?

Ordering new wheels this week and my prior set was 19 and 18. My car looked great but im thinking of doing a 20x12.5 out back and a 19x11 up front this time around to try something different for more visual factor. Just not sure of the 20 out back is going to look weird or not. My planned tire sizes are 335/30/20 and 285/35/19

So any of,you guys have photos you can post up in this thread?

Please don't.

Also it depends on what year Mustang you have. Unless you min tubb the rear on a 65 your NOT going to get anything, but about a 9" rear wheel under there.

Also, different year cars accept/look better bigger wheels. For the max on a 65 Mustang is about 17", BUT there is a member here who has 18" on the rear of his that are done well, and look good.

From 67-70 I think 18" look good, but like with anything else too much is over kill so your walking a fine line between looking good, and like a pimp.

This is my opinion, its your car and you can do what you like with it regardless of what I or others may think.

Here is my wifes 65 Mustang with 17"......which by the way is the sister to the other 65 Mustang with 18's on the rear.

please don't pimp your ride. 18s are respectable depending on the combo but anything 20 almost never works.. it's your car and do what you want but that's my .02

335 30 20 is 28 inches tall. I have serious reservations that it would physically fit on a stock or lowered height mustang back end. It is also 13.5 inches wide so you would probably need a mini tub as well.

285 35 39 is 27 inches tall, you will have the same problem, there is not enough space in the front fenders for it.

What modifications are you planning to the car (and please don't say donk)

Guys my car is tubbed and heavily modified and these size will fit. My rear tubs have 15.8 inches of width to swallow up now.

It isnt pimping these are Porsche and Ferrari supercar sizes and quite a few guys at this years Optima Challenge ran these or similar on their pro touring g machines. Their results were pretty amazing, i have a 70 fastback and granted my prior 19/18 stagger looked awesome i just hate doing the same thing twice and now that my car is so modified why not push the limit a little i figure.

I think im going to order few test tires this week to have the shop test fit before i make my mind up.

This may not be the right audience to discuss this here but all the pro touring forums are all GM guys so there is no strong Ford audience over on those boards which stinks if you ask me.

Just saying: I LOVED your last setup LOL

So much I bought them. I really doubt there is any performance benefit of going to 20's and I've got 28" in my 69 now and playing with 345's that are near 28" in the 67 currently ( Nothing definite there, but like you wheel wells altered heavily if more shade tree). But without going to any hurtful language of personal preference, I'd stick with a similar size, but play with the "look" to help it be less repetitious.

I got your envelope, now if only the wheels would get here!

Do a little more searching on here and you'll find some fastbacks in a more street rod fashion pull off 20's. But that is my fear is that'll look more street rod than high end euro racer. I've seen too much of your previous ideas to fear PIMP or DONK.

Rem: Form follows function and this will keep it real which is where Pro touring out does the former pro street (saying that being guilty of such in the past).

Stance is important and this time around i am Going much more aggressive and lower. Im pretty confident i could pull off a 20/19 stagger but havent made my mind up yet. With my narrowed rear end 7 inches, deep tubs plus more, modified front fenders and new suspension the skys the limit on ideas right now. I think my new build is going to be more of a show car than track car its going to be too nice to trash hard i think. I need to order rims this week regardless.

I'm not a fan of all his builds, but he does push the limits. Google Foose Mustang builds?
