Default 66 fastback with 289 HEI distributor advice

Wanting to put an HEI distributor on my new ride. I put a Mallory on my 71 Bronco with a 302 and it works great. I have power steering, and I was wondering what fits with the air cleaner and power steering setup?

I vote for the Duraspark too. Got one in my '66.

Are you saying that there may be a clearance issue between the HEI and the power steering pump? I have seen photos of them on 289s and from my memory, an aircleaner will clear it.

I want an all in one distributor without a separate box. Doesn't Duraspark have to have one? I was concerned about clearance on air filter, hood and PS pump. Had to notch hood brace on the Bronco. First time owning a Mustang, don't know all the ins and outs yet.

Man i have a simple Pertronix module in my stock dizzy and it does wonders. It looks stock and I never need to mess with it. Also, it = cheap.

Yes, Duraspark requires either the Duraspark brain or an MSD box to run it. Sounds like you want the Pertronix module to install into your points distributor.
