As discussed earlier, some folks are interested in getting together for dinner next Saturday evening. I've got a couple thoughts:

1. Azteca, 148th & Hwy 520 in Redmond. Fun place to be with a crowd, reasonably priced, great margaritas, centrally located.

2. Chucks Seafood Grotto in Snohomish. OK, I know I said I'd find a place down south, but hear me out on this. Chucks is a funky old converted gas station in downtown Snohomish that serves up INCREDIBLE seafood at good prices. Picnic table dining outside, sometimes a band playing. Really cool place to hang out with friends. They don't serve alcohol, but there's a wide choice of cool little taverns all up and down the street. Chucks definitely gets my vote.

OK folks, please respond to the following questions:

1. Headcount, who's up for meeting for dinner Saturday?

2. Which do you prefer, Azteca, Chucks, or do you have another suggestion?

We met at that Azteca last year... it was fine, but we were unable to get a SINGLE large table, which would have been nice.

I would personally prefer something a little more central. Desert Fire (Redmond Town Center)?

Dan....the "food" isn't a huge deal...drinks and mingling is the key... any chance on getting something like the Oregon folks had set up at the swap meet? As Steve said we did the Azteca thing last year...food and all was great...but we were all at different tables. Hard ta visit..

I'm wondering if this is a "bring the kid" kind of deal or not. I need to know if we need to find a babysitter. What are the rest of you doing?

Azteca did suck as far as visiting goes so that would not be my preferred choice.

It's great being the walking dead at work. Everyone feels sorry for me and nobody expects much of me so I can screw off all day researching and calling restaurants!

Anyway, I didn't know you guys did Azteca last year so scratch that one. I agree with Ken that the Oregon deal was sweet and made for some good socializing, soooooo ... with that in mind I called around and came up with ....

[color:"red"] Tony Romas[/color] in Redmond. I've got the banquet room reserved for our group starting at 6:00. Sound good? If I can get a couple "yeah, let's do it" replies, I'll do another official sticky post and get a real headcount going. So wadayasay?

You mean they sometimes DO expect something from you, and you don't NORMALLY screw off all day?

"yeah, let's do it".

What's the seating capacity? I'll either be bringing the SWMBO and kidlings, or just myself.

Room seats up to 50, so bring the whole gang. I told them we'd have around 20, but no problem if that number swells.
