For Immediate Release:
Local (Youngstown, Ohio) entrepreneur and car enthusiast Bruce R. Beeghly's 1964 ½, fully restored pre-production Ford Mustang convertible wins Best of Class at one of the top four Car show events in the United States.
The Eighth Annual Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance and Motoring Festival is recognized as one of the premier automotive events in the United States featuring pre-1980 vintage cars and motorcycles. Beeghly's Mustang was one of 150 carefully chosen applicants of this prominent competition. As with other top events, the methodical process of putting together this premium selection of cars means that acceptance into the event places an automobile among the very finest of its category. Then the judging process occurs, singling out "Best in Class" based on originality, authenticity, and appropriate and exceptional preservation or restoration.
“Being selected for such a well-regarded affair is considered a privilege in itself, let alone having the honor of being chosen the “Best in Class” at the event,” said Nate Miller, owner of Buckeye Automotive Restoration in Berlin Center. Miller was commissioned by Beeghly to restore the Classic Pony to its original glory, a little more than a year ago.
Although Beeghly's prized Mustang's newly restored body and flawless, authentic Ford Rangoon Red finish, was surely enough to earn the very prestigious award of “Best of Class” at the event, the secret of its origin is a tale that will have car enthusiasts more than just a little anxious to get a peek at this prize winning Pony. During the research phase of the restoration process Miller made the incredible discovery that Beeghly's timeless American classic bears the distinction of being the oldest known, fully restored, authentic Ford Mustang prototype in existence today.
Miller, with the help of his father John Miller, ClassicMuscleCars.com's Mustang expert Tony Begley and some of the Buckeye Automotive Restoration employees, spent approximately 700 hours researching and documenting the proof necessary to make such a highly controversial claim. Miller's discoveries and attention to detail have already earned him a reputation as one of the leading authorities of pre-production Mustangs and their restoration by Mustang enthusiasts across the nation and beyond.
Thanks to the acknowledgment of the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance, Buckeye Automotive Restoration is now considered one of the top tier Classic Automobile restoration Shops in the United States.
