Glass Doctor in Birmingham Alabama acted like I had a carnivous dinosaur that would eat their hands off if they touched my windshield(s)! Acted like real jerks, too. I have two other cars I was going to have them replace the windshields as well but screw them if they couldn't do my Mustang. I have leaks around both the front and rear windshields. I have the weatherstriping.

Anyone got any ideas in the Birmingham Alabama area on anyone competent and intelligent enough to take the windshields out, install the weatherstriping and then put them both back in. While they are at it and having the windshields out replace the headliner (which I also have).

I had one guy say he'd do it but take two or three weeks another said at least 2 weeks - prices including headliner replacement with me supplying all parts - $425 and UP?

I'm in the wrong business. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help you but I had a similar experience. Was at a glass shop (all types) for some other stuff and "inquired" as to cost to re-strip. They ask me if I'm taking the windows out or removing the trim. When I say "no", I get a quote of $300 to re-seal the front and rear. No parts...just labor. It will be another first time job.

I did my own.....after receiving a quote of $925 to replace both window gaskets, plus do the headliner, and I bring them the parts. I had other quotes of over $1000, and most places would not even do it. I did everything myself. Took me about 7 hours, for everything. I am indeed in the wrong business. ( $925, divided by 7 hours, equals about $132 an hour!!)
