Many years ago when I lived in San Bernardino, I had Wayne's Engine Rebuilding do the bottom end of my 289 because I had issues of not doing things correctly and spinning rod bearings. That bottom end lasted for quite a long time. Don't know what their work is like now.

I've started a blog about my car and adventures:

1965 Fastback, 289, Toploader 4 Speed, owned by me since June 1980. Originally a C-code with a C-4. 5R09C16****

You can't go wrong by going to Wayne's ! Right off of the 60 Freeway. Make sure and see Mark the owner and tell him Randy referred you. They do excellent work.

L & R, I think he's in Santa Fe Springs or thereabouts. He used to do some of the rebuilds for Overhaulin.
