Default T5 builders in the area?

anyone know of any shops building good quality t5's in so cal? I'd like something a little better than stock.. I've got a 68 coupe with a 351w 420hp/415lbs tq. I was thinking either going with american powertrain cobra t5 with the 28 spline input shaft for 1500 or I found a shop for 1850 will do an A5 astro build.. any suggestions or other shops in the area? thanks!

For what you are talking about, a custom built transmission is not needed....check these guys out as they have been in business for 30+ years, very good at what they do.

I build t5's...I'm not a pro shop, but I've been doing it for years now, and have built all my 5.0 club members t5's from san diego to LA to Inland empire....

$200 labor, and that's my only charge(all other costs parts + rebuild kit price)...shoot me a pm...I can put together a z spec, or work with the asto kit too

that's good news! My plans just drastically changed....I have a 96 351w roller block sitting in my garage. I bought it as a motor replacement for my 90 5.0 bronco. LOL...I took one long hard look at that 5.8 roller sitting there and my plans completely changed...the 5.0 roller in my 66 is getting yanked out next week....gt40 alum heads will be ported and put on the 5.8 with the b303 roller cam....and the 5.0 from the 66 will go into my 90 bronco....

Which flywheel and headers did you go with? I'm looking at a pos iron flywheel on summit for like $65 and the hedman 88660 headers....my friend has a $300 sfi balancer he's giving me for $50, so I'm set there....all I need now is to find a front sump oil pan.
