Just moved to the San Diego area

Hey fellow VMFers, I just moved to the San Diego area from Connecticut. I am active duty Navy and moved here under change of homeport orders. I will be bringing my car out here in early December and I am looking forward to enjoying year-round driving.

Are there any routine local cruise nights, meets, etc.? I'm hoping to finally be able to put some miles on the car and meet up with some of the VMF locals.

Not sure if you have facebook. But if you do, add San Diego car shows and they have a list of a lot Of upcoming shows and meets. I know El Cajon has a night cruise but I believe it's seasonal.

In the summer there's an event called "Cruising Grand" I believe. I went there a year or so ago and they closed off several blocks to fill the roads with classic cars.

Cruising Grand is up from you in Escondido on Friday evenings. Lots of nice cars and folks. I believe it runs April to September/October.

Thanks for all the info. Several guys I work with are car guys have mentioned Carlsbad Cars & Coffee, so I will probably run up there sometime. I was hoping to have my car here now, but I ran into some minor mechanical problems on the way here with my tow vehicle (ended up being a rear u-joint), so I flew back to get back to work on time. Everything is sitting at my sister's house about 1400 miles away, but I'll be picking it all up and Christmas.
