John from Hot Rod magazine rides in our '66
Street or Track hosted John McGann from Hot Rod magazine for a day last Summer at the NorCal SAAC Mini-Nats at Sears Point. I first met John when he ran an article on the car in 2013 before I tore it apart and recreated it. California is where it all began for me so I wanted to take the new car back there and see what it could do. I invited John along to hang out with us at the track. He took a ride one session and had a blast. The car is so dang loud now we operate on hand signals. Thumbs up means you're still digging it. Thumbs down you are done. John managed a good 4-5 laps before I started chasing 2 2016 GT350's and after that it was thumbs down. Not anything to scoff at. Sears Point is very twisty with lots of elevation change. Riding passenger is like sitting on a roller coaster for 20 minutes with gas/exhaust fumes and whiffs of hot brakes every now and then.
Check out some of the great pictures he shot and keep your eye out for a magazine spread coming soon.
