Good afternoon. I am currently in the semi-early stages of restoring a 1970 Coupe. A few years back when my fater was restoring his mustang he had it acid dipped, and I am now comtomplating this route.

Unfortunatly this was in California, and I'm now in Texas. Does anyone know of a shop near the Houston area that does this sort of work?

Try Metal Rehab they are based in Dallas but I think opened a store in Houston.

Their Dallas information is 817-551-6632.

Also, A friend of mine here in Austin said there was a less expensive place in Corpus that would save $ over these guys.

I have had MR dip a hood and trunk in the past year with total satisfaction.

Regards and good luck,
Thomas

I have used Metal Rehab also and was pleased with their work. I had a hood and both doors dipped/cleaned and had them primed with DP-90 - they looked great. I thought about doing the shell and was quoted a price of about $1200, but that was three or four yeras ago. Not a bad price though if you consider that all the paint and grime is removed and it's ready for bodywork and paint.
