Not really a shop in the sense of labor, but Mustang Mania in Katy is a huge source for original, nos, and restmod parts. Chances are, they have the part you need, and their prices are good. They also have a few cars that are worth the trip just to check out. (original Boss 302, '68 Shelby gt500, etc. http://www.mustangmania.com/

Mechanic in Austin

AutoTek, Inc. 512 326 3881. I've been using them for 10 years for Lincoln MK VII, 86 Mustang GT, '66 vert, and now 03 Merc Marauder. Aaron and Leonard Fehrle. Excellent work, honest.

If you need custom muffler work done in Houston, call Mayco Muffler (5919 Bellaire Blvd.). They put a complete system on my 73 vert and did an outstanding job (I supplied the mufflers and tailpipes). Very reasonable also.

recommended muffler shop in fort worth area -- john's muffler & custom (3015 keller hicks rd. 817-337-4400)

they did a great job installing my new exhaust and were very reasonably priced. also, he did a great job cutting & welding my gt trumpets to the larger 2.5 inch pipes.

Were you happy with their work? I need an alignment, and would love to take it to a shop known to be able to align one of our cars.

Hey Guys,

Looking for a nice paint shop in the Dallas area to take my car. I'd like a good quality paint job at an affordable price ($3-5K).

If anyone knows of a good shop that can stay in this price range, please let me know. Condition on the car is good-- no rust repair, just a little bit of bodywork to smooth it out.

If you have any experience with someone, or have heard of someone that has, that'd be greatly appreciated.

I will second this....Classic Mustangs of Houston have my 65FB and are doing a great job. Billy and his crew are top notch. Good price and very fair with the way they do business. If I had a Shelby and wanted it restored correctly there would be no doubt that this is where it would go.......

Houston area. Check out Chris Car Doc, hes in Humble but well worth the drive out there. He does alignments and builds engines , etc etc. I took my 65 to get it aligned then came back to get my car tuned and some buggs with the engine fix. He took care of business and knows what he is doing..

I used to have a few mustangs back in the day and I have recently aquired a 64 convertable that needs restoration. So, I am looking for local shops to do some work.

10-12 yrs ago at least there used to be a shop off a side street off of Division in Arlington TX. I believe the name of the shop was Classic Mustang. IIRC the owners name was Larry and he had his son working with him named Steve.

Is anyone familiar with this shop?

Does anyone know if they are still around or even in the business?
