Default Let's trade rear ends....

Just throwing this out there.....

I am cleaning up a 65/6 width 9 inch rear and I have. It has a 3.5 trak lok and 31 spline axles. It is complete over kill for what I am installing it in which is a 67 fastback that will never have a big horsepower setup but I like the higher numerical gear ratio for pep and I like the narrower housing because it makes it easier to put the wider tires on that I like to run.

I am taking out the 67/8 width 8 inch rear out of my 67 mustang. It has 28 spline, 2.79 gearing.

I would ideally LOVE to have a 65/6 width rear with the tapered tubes....because that will get me a small bump in rear height.

So if anyone has either a 8 or 9 inch 65/6 width rear with tapered tubes (most likely 8 inch since the 9s are rare) with a 3.25 to 3.5 ratio that want's to work out a trade......for either a 67/8 8 inch or a 65/6 width 9 inch shoot me a PM.

Nick,

I'd work out a trade with you for my rear but I only have 2.79s and I know that your looking for a higher gear. If you change your mind, let me know.

Thanks
Richard.

Yeah.....don't think I would trade for the same gear ratio....plus it is looking like I might need the 9 anyway....and I will just gain back the 1/2 inch I want in height another way. The roller block is headed to the machine shop, the heads get delivered tomorrow, 347 is looking like the number, and there is a big puddle under the ole 67 so its time.

Nick,
I have a 67 mustang rear end that is complete out of my 67 convert. Would you be interested in trading that 9" for it. It is stone stock with 28 spline and 3.00 gears.
