"virus" warning

Is anyone else getting a warning of a virus while on the VMF? I think that it is a scam as I have not gotten the warning anywhere else but the VMF. 2 or 3 times in the last 2 days. The warning takes over my screen as I am reading the forum. Dave R.

I did earlier today, I had to kill browser from the command-line to get rid of it.

Finally old enough to drive the car I want instead of the one I need.

Sorry to hear that someone else is having the same problem. But I am kind of glad that I'm not the only one having this problem on VMF. Dave R.

I wonder if the VMF has been infected with a malware virus? I don't get it but then I'm running Linux. It may be specific to Windows. It looks at my machine, can't find a hook in so it just stays invisible I would think. Don't click on it. These things are generally browser hijackers.

I get a Google virus alert mostly on my cell phone. It's not from Google but saying they are.

I've not seen anything but I run Chrome with AdBlock. I am signed onto VMF almost all day every day.

i havent seen any virus alert, but then i run firefox with ad blocker, and norton internet security. its possible that norton is working behind the scenes to stop it in its tracks.

Tongue virus

You're not alone. I'm getting hijacked by a virus page everytime I post. Rather frustrating....don't know how to block it......its definately coming from here though, this is the only place I've been lately......LSG

I'm getting it as well.
Locks up my browser with a page saying " Your Computer is blocked" and has a phone # I'm supposed to call.
I have to use task manager to close out the page.
I get it several times a day on this forum, and only one other time on the web...

Hey guys,

If you can take a screen shot of the warning and provide a URL of the warning, I can have the techs block it.

Thank you so much

I've had it happen on this site also 1st it displays a Valentines Day page when I kill it there's the "your computer has been locked call 1800xxxxxx with a credit card ready"

I just power the computer off & restart it.

It's not just this site my wife had the same thing happen on the New York Times site. I had to restore that computer back to last weeks backup.

Everyone should at least have recent restore points or an image of your computer saved on a remote device, lot easier than reloading all your programs if it corrupts your operating system.
