What is with the ads?

Earlier today there were two auto-play video ads on the right side that prevented the page from scrolling, and just now I had a page load and the instant it was done, it went blank and just showed an allstate ad with no other content as if I had right-clicked it and told it to view image. I'll keep taking notes, but it seems like they're aggressive today.

This is on a Mac using Chrome and it hasn't happened on any other sites.

I'm not an expert, but I play one on the internet.

can you grab the URL of the ads and take a screen shot as well? We'll get them removed.
Keep in mind that auto-play ads are for guest users so log in and confirm that they are playing with sound

if its preventing you from scrolling while it's loading, are you logged in?

Yes sir, I was logged in at the time. That's why it was particularly weird. I'll report back if I run into it again. Thanks for being responsive.

Happened again, this time with a different ad. Full take over of the site, while I was logged in.

The autoplay video with audio just happened again on the found Bullitt thread. Completely locked down the page and I had to reload.

Yes I was logged in at the time.

It has now happened 3 more times on the same thread. It is currently unviewable to me. Every time I check the thread it locks up, plays the audio from the video. Sometimes I can see part of the video, sometimes none at all, and once it played the same video twice but 1 second apart.

Hey guys,

Next time this happens, can you take a screenshot of the add with the URL and I'll get it reported.

Thanks,
Niall

I have since closed down Chrome and deleted all my cached and temp files. The issue seems to have gone away for now.

I'm on a Windows 7 machine and am running both Chrome and IE, all blockers off. Let's see if I can catch anything.

I am not seeing any ads misbehaving, but I will admit the pages are taking longer to load on Chrome. My IE on the other hand, keeps locking up, waiting for ads to load and then they sometimes fail with black boxes or some script showing. Can't scroll the page but I can operate IE's toolbar options. Just refreshed IE and got an error message "An error with the page cause the tab to close and re-open". F5'ed it and its back to normal, for now.
