Question Project Build Forum anyone?

Hey folks. Would you like a forum dedicated for Project Builds?
(Hopefully the moderators are listening)

Q: What does this mean??
A: I'm talking about a full project thread that details a restoration/story of your car. This would include multiple sub-projects (paint, body, brakes, engine, brightwork, modifications, suspension, upholstery, stereo). A "build thread" would be the accumulation of the work that goes into your vehicle all in one thread.

Q: Why??
A: There's a lot of great restorations and modded cars out there. It would be nice to have one dedicated forum to see the FULL STORY of how the project came to be.

CHECK OUT THESE EXAMPLES:
My son bought his 1st car this weekend!
'69 Mach1 Project i picked up
Beau's 68 Coupe
Project Poorman
The Grace Project (A true WIP)
1967 mustang coupe restoration project

Been on here for seven years people discuss what they are working on and the questions they have. Could you give examples of what would be different? How it would be tracked?

I want it known I wasn't the one that got it moved!! Went back to see how the vote was going and the thread/post was gone! I was the one vote against so figured it seems obvious!

No prob slim.

Hey, I used to visit VF 13years ago, then went on a hiatus for a decade. Do you know what happened to the original guy who owned this site? He featured his resto build of a Fastback from what I could remember.

seems like a great idea. I love to read the build threads. Many do have threads of their build as described but they are hard to find. Someone could be doing a ground up original restoration and post in concours section, another a "restomod" and post in the Mod and Custom section, etc. I think a dedicated section for builds would be cool so they are easy to find. Especially when a project takes a long time and someone doesn't post for a while. They could get buried. I am more of a lurker and love to read about and see pics of the build, especially little side projects like building an custom instrument panel or swapping in a unique engine trans combo, hunting down that elusive rare optioned part, etc...
Anyway, that's my 2 cents

A section to ask specific questions is one thing, a section for builds that go from startup to completion is something totally different.

Hey folks, I'm still trying to get votes for a new forum dedicated to your PROJECT BUILDS, which would be more of a long-term running documentation and conversation about your project. I've listed some examples so far.

I've got a project build thread and I still use the other forums for questions/comments here and there.

There are only a few "no" voters, but I'd be interested to hear what their concerns would be.

I've brought this up in here also.

Build threads area

Right now we have build threads in a bunch of different areas, scattered about. It would be nice to consolidate them.

Thanks Beau. I saw that. Hopefully VMF will get one created (or at least test it out) once the final poll results are in (April 23).

I think it's great idea! In fact I kinda surprised that there already isn't one. But I do have a question, what would be the difference between the proposed forum and the gallery forum, which already has several build threads in it?

Thanks for the question Supercar14! Yeah, I get that. You'll find "build threads" in various places. Most of them are in the gallery. One of the most viewed and commented build threads is actually in the "vintage forum".

A build thread, I think, would also encourage people to post and keep track of their long term projects.
