Nut and thread size please? 67 tail lamps

Hello Folks,

One of the big hurdles in working on these cars over in the UK as I do is the lack of Imperial fasteners

I try and keep a stock of some commonly used stuff but when run up against parts that really should come with fasteners (IMHO) I get frustrated on jobs.

Anyone know off hand the thread size of the threaded rods that affix the chrome exterior tailiight surrounds to a 67/68 Mustang tail end please? Threaded rods come with them but not the nuts. These are the six rectangular chrome trims seen on the back of the car.

Also and I think these are the same, The bolt thread size for the needed hardware to attach the plastic red tail light lenses to the tail light bodies please.

Thanks a bunch.

67 bezel tail light housing studs, uses a "keps nut" which is a 8-32 thread pattern.
Keps nut is a nut with external tooth washer attached to it.
Then plastic caps put over studs to prevent injuries.

Thanks guys

i'm in the U.k. and imperial stuff is hard to get.

Do you know if they are UNC or UNF? I assume UNF.

i also assume the thread for the chrome trim studs are the same as the lense attatchment bolts.

cheers. peter
