I just priced one from a local glass company for my 65 coupe and was quoted $700.00 wholesale as I work for a car dealership. They told me list price was almost $1600.00!I hope that this post brings me a more reasonable place to buy a replacement.

That price is absolutely obnoxious. I paid $180 and I provided the gasket so it was about $215. Only reason to even pay twice that much would be for a NOS ford windshield and I don't believe are are many of those available.
The needs of the many outwiegh the needs of the few, Saddam!
Man, I think if I were quoted $1,600 for a windshield, I might run that establishment past the BBB! That's absolutely off the charts. I wouldn't pay anywhere close to that for fastback rear window glass!

was that for NOS carlite glass or something??.... whew... i paid a local body shop $160 installed for a tinted windshield in my 70 mach..... of course it doesn't have a gasket and is not orignial carlite glass either..... i'm in west virginia.....
The cost depends on availablity of used glass in good shape, new glass, tinting and what brand of glass. Last year I had $600 quotes and only one at $215 for LOF with tint at the top. I noted that NPD lists Carlite glass at about $350. The installation cost is typically $35 for the gasket and $75 for labor. My cost was $310 installed.
