Is there any significance to the number "8" as a prefix to the vehicle number of a 65 hardtop on a NJ title? I haven't actually seen the title, yet, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a deeper, more sinister meaning to the extra digit. There is no door tag but the title matches the VIN on the fender.

Not too sure, but I think it used to be the number of previous owners

(southern NJ) 68 acapulco blue convertible, and 95 opal frost pearl G/T BOSS edition convertible and 78 Mustang II last two belong to swmbo MCA#54225

I thought that an alpha character elsewhere on the title but not part of the vin represented the number of owners.
