i was wondering if there are different seat frames for a 71.. mach1, standard and delux? and is there different seat foam for the upholstery?

I found out my 1971 Mustang is a Mach 1. I believe it was in an accident which would explain the standered grill but has the mach 1 harness for the parking lights.

Nice car! I'm pretty sure it's just different covers. Check out Yearone or NPD, they have good pitures of differences.

there is 3 differant styles of seat covers Mach 1, deluxe and standard. the seat foam is the same for all.

well what about the seat frames?? in my car right now i have 2 different seats (one is taller then the other) maybe from a different year mustang?

The seat frames are the same for all 71-3. The seat back release knob does appear in the middle back of the 71 and on the side of the seat on the 73, other than that they will interchange....

i dont know much about seats... its just weird cause driver side seat is tall and skinny and the passenger side is a little shorter and fatter.. maybe its a 69 or 70 seat?

The metal seat frames (seat bottoms and seat backs) are the same for all three years. The left and right sides are the same. Only the placement of the seat back releases and the hard panel seat back distinguishes the left or the right seat.
Also, Ray is correct about some '71 seats having a center latch. It sounds like you have mismatched seats.
