If you are running MSD ignition you had to use the diode that shipped with the kit. I need a part number or size (whatever) for that diode. I recently converted to MSD but have lost the diode since I originally bought the kit a couple years ago.

I'm sure Mark will give you the information on the diode, I have his wiring kit and it works great! Greatly improved performance, my 2 cents.

When you contact Mark be prepared to have long conversation...... He just can't stop talking, must be lonely where he lives.

I actually had found that site already but I guess I didn't read it closely enough. I see the Radio Shack part number now. Thanks

He's one of the nicest guys I've met since starting on this car and that is saying something because almost evryone I've met have been genuine good people. He's always willing to help but you are right you better have a few minutes to kill when you get him on the phone. Maybe that's why his phone is always busy.

Here is a short article regarding what you need.

http://www.nk.ca/~zcar/pages/article...lternator.html

I put a GM 12SI alternator in my Mustang a while back and I had to add the diode. I found some Zener Diodes #INT4742A - 12 Volt that I bought from Radio Shack for .97 cents (for a 2 pack). I think those are the correct ones and it worked great.

The above article calls for a slightly different diode, so I am not sure. All I know is that the one I bought works...

I did not mean that in a bad way, just an observation. When I talked to him we covered a whole variety of topics and he was very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to.

I didn't take it as a negative comment.
