Deluxe Door Panels

Over the next few weeks, the interior renovation on my 7D Mach will commence, and I know a big ticket item on the list is new door panels - any advice for a vendor to use, or better yet, what or who should I avoid? I sure there have been lots of horror stories, and I know for sure that price is not the primary consideration.

I have the repro deluxe door panels with the factory correct cardboard backing that is made from Dashes Direct. I've very happy with these panels. The ones I had on there before had some kind of white foam backing and they seemed to be of inferior quality compared to the Dashes Direct.

If you're looking for a black pair, I have the NPD version with fiberboard/metal backing listed for sale in the '69/70 classifieds. They're brand-new with show-quality polished original mouldings, new walnut inserts and lights, show-quality restored door cups, etc.

And I agree, this version is superior to the cheaper plastic-backed panels offered by other vendors.

Thanks amorrow, I saw those in the classifieds and it is a great deal, but I don't need all the goodies, just the panels. I'll be sure to check the backing, I saw a set yesterday online that were just plastic covers for the top edge to the carpet - bet they would work great!! jk
