Hmmmm...I think I kind of like the idea, but that is poor execution. I was actually impressed with the photos until they were showing off their GT Exhaust tips with the fastback roof on. The roof just looks really wrong, probably because it has a convertible deck instead of a fastback deck.

...and since the owner seems to be really taking liberties with the car, I for one am glad he chose to chop up a coupe rather than a vert or a fastback to build his vision. ...The tonneau cover looks kind of weird, but I think it is that particular cover that I don't really care for. If they were going to "roadsterize" a Mustang, the "humps" needed to be wider, and the cover needed to be placed slightly farther back. The car itself looks pretty nice, but the fastback roof and the tonneau cover look incorrect.

I actually do like the idea they had with a Mustang roadster (sure they aren't the first to think of it) and if they had done a little better job with that cover, I might have been wowed, but no.

Where do you think he got the fastback roof from?

I like it. I think it's a very original idea and well executed. But I do have to agree if there is something to pick on, I don't like the way it the roof looks from the behind where it joins the body.

From the ad it seems like the roof is made of fiberglass? But it doesn't look like fiberglass but desciption says it is. The Tonneau cover definitely is fiberglass from the photos. Cool concept though...made the new owner happy! Can interchange this Pony depending on the weather and your mood! lol 3 is 1 is a a great name for it!

I'm guessing you would lose all functionality of the trunk when the FB roof is on it. Otherwise, the FB roof would look all out of proportion. Also, the hodge-podge of parts around the rear seat area is distracting. Coupe inner quarters with CV inners patched on top of them and then hacked up so the lower coupe seat will fit under them. That's going to look strange when someone sits on it and there is a huge gap. Then, you get FB side windows. The car lacks identity and will be tough to really do anything with. No top means you can't expect to take it out on a day that might get a surprise sprinkle. No real functionality if you take it out like a FB, since it lacks the true class of the fold down seat people expect to see under that huge glass window.
He's a great body man and would have better put his skills to work building a CV and a FB rather than a fastvertoupe.

I think this is the same guy from a year or so ago...he builds the fiberglass FB roofs in his garage and IIRC has built several. The first car he built looked very similar to this one but had some minor sheetmetal mods to the trunklid and it looked even more like a real FB with the roof in place.

Undercarriage seems to have been spray bombed. I love his statement about checking out the parking brake detail. What detail? It was spray bombed.
