Default 67 Door Lock Knob Grommets: different sizes?

Are there 2 different sizes of clear plastic door lock grommets that fit into the holes on the interior door frames of 67 Mustangs? I was told there are 2 different size/types of chrome door lock knobs for deluxe and standard interior. Is this accurate?

Since no one has responded, it is my understanding that '67's only use one size grommet and it's clear plastic. The chrome ones are aftermarket.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

The chrome ones were available on other cars in the 67 lineup. I prefer the look so that is what I installed. The knobs are a unique thread so if you have to replace yours be sure to get the 67 units.

I would try posting this question on the concours forum.

My car came with clear plastic grommets from the factory. I still remember them as they aged, cracked, and eventually fell off allowing the lock button to rattle-- annoyingly.
Only one style of grommet AFAIK.

65-68 had only one size, a clear snap-in grommet. The clear allowed it to blend in with any color, I suppose they got tired of having red, green, blue, etc. as in 64. These are widely available, and dirt cheap. If and when they start to yellow, throw them away and put in new ones. The 67 had a different knob than the 65-66, different length, make sure you get the right ones. The 68-73 knob will fit, but it looks different.

Looking at diff catalogs I believe 67/68's had clears ones as said. I tried clear ones for awhile and in short time plastic tabs on them eventually broke. I noticed listed for 69's they had the chrome ones. SInce clear ones sucked I put on the '69 chrome ones and happy I won't have to replace them. Since I'm not looking 100% correct, I'm keeping them chrome.
