This is mine and my dads pride and joy. We have been restoring this car for about two years now with what little time and resources we have had available. It is a 1969 5.2 litre V8 fastback Mustang which we shipped over all the way from Colorado (USA) to the docks of sunny Themsport (London). we have formed a company called CAM (Classic American Muscle) and hope that one day we will be able to restore these beautiful pieces of American history as a full time occupation. As for now the main concern is getting the company off the ground ie restoring this car to its full factory fitted condition and colour. This happens to be Playboy pink, not my personal colour preference but this is the original colour and also an extremely rare colour, rumour has it that this car was only issued to the rich and famous. Possibly the legend himself known as Hugh Hefner.. anyway this car is the result of a lot of hard work and struggle which we have faced these past years and someday soon will be restored to its original glory and hopefully be the platform and step we need to have our own garage. If anyone has any info on this car it would be greatfully appreciated as even the hardcore enthusiasts dont seem to own one and only know of its rarety in this colour.. YES ITS RARE! lol click on the photobucket link and check out what we have done so far.. Much love Paddy and Dave x

That will be sharp when you're done, and the pink will certainly get attention for your business. I drove a factory pink and lavender '62 Mercury S-55 for a few years- if nothing else, it will demonstrate that you're comfortable with your masculinity.
Just a couple of notes- I don't believe that Ford ever built a 5.2 litre Windsor (or any other 5.2 litre V8s, for that matter). The only Windsors available in 1969 would be the 5 litre (302ci) or 5.7 litre (351ci). The fifth character in the VIN for this particular car is a "T", which indicates that the car was originally equipped with the 3.3 litre (200ci) inline six.
That's also not a 2.77 3-sp transmission, which was a very light-duty piece specified for pre-1967 200ci sixes (and was often short-lived even there, as I've personally blown up a few). The transmission in your pictures has nine bolts in the top cover, which identifies it as the 3.03 or toploader 3-sp, which is an infinitely stronger transmission.
I stand corrected it is a 5 litre my dads just corrected me aswell lol. The top loader 3 speed box was on the passenger seat when bought and has been fully restored and will be mated to the 302. The original straight 6 and 3 speed box have long been sold many years ago.. the current set up is sure to kick more *** and turn more heads.
Thanks for the info it is greatly appreciated and watch this space.
Welcome to the VMF! Where you will find tons of knowledge, a little humor, definitely sarcasm and maybe some jealousy...kinda like a car show.
I love to hear stories of families working together. I hope to start my restorations with my sons as well, even if they are only 5 and 10 years old.

I heard about a guy restoring a pink 69 fastback a few years ago named david laidlaw. one and the same perhaps? At any rate, good luck on the restoration!
Looks like you're making good progress. Might want to check out our Concours Forum for info on what colors of paint go where, inspection markings, etc.

That's why I suggested they check out the Concours Forum. I'm not a concours guy, but if that's what he's going for with this resto, I'm pretty sure the engine compartment and at least part of the frame rails are supposed to be black.

You may want to get a deluxe Marti report. As an aside it would be neat to find out
if it was Playboy pink special order. A less glamerous possibility
is Mary Kay (cosmetics) pink!

a few years ago i had a 69 mach1 "S" code auto fully loaded.....even a super rare shaker and playboy pink car! only bad thing was that Kevin Marti and his report couldn't say that for sure without question that it was a pink car! even though he saw it and it was....all he could honestly say is that it was special paint! rare yes, but even marti wouldn't put it in writeing that it was a pink car! i ended up selling it though, of course to pay bills and live.
