Default should I add a second mirror???....

the wife thinks we should put a second mirror on the passenger side which would be fine with me but do you think it takes away from the integrity of the car?

We added one. My wife and I both use the mirrors alot. Growing up my friend was a tow truck driver so I became acustomed to using all my mirrors for backing up. Have taught my wife to do the same.

Unless it was a chalk-mark-perfect concours car, I'd do it. It's a lot safer to have both mirrors on today's roads and driving with only one is just...odd.

if you are going to be driving in los angeles i would recomend the right side mirror and a wink wide angle , people out here are crazy ! there was a company the made some really cool plastic chrome aftermarket mirrors but i cant find them out here. i put the 67 style mirrors on my 65 and they look great.

Having a RH mirror is period "correct", but they were rarely ordered back then. Heck, one of the selling points on the 65 was the LH mirror was standard, not all cars came with them.

I've had my 66 for decades, but I'm planning to add the RH mirror.

Your car will be worth a lot more with a side mirror than with body work and a carfax with a blemish. Just add a period correct mirror.

Make sure you spend the extra 5 bucks and get the convex mirror, or you won't be able to see anything.

Partial hijack. What would a power mirror conversion, on a vintage mirror be worth to a Mustang owner?

Put the second mirror on.
I took mine off for a few days to give it a shine and I was lost without it.
It also balances the car

The very first thing I installed on my vert was a repro convex mirror. Looks good, works better. Don't like driving without a right-hand mirror.

so right. but unless you are driving in congested urban traffic, I would not put a mirror on an otherwise original car.

With the inside rear view adjusted properly, a quick glance to the right and you're good without it. I drove my '65 'vert in big city traffic daily for years without a close call. That said, I'd like to try putting adjuster guts in the dummy adjustable RH mirror...

My brother's unmolested '64.5 'vert never had an outside mirror until he did his resto. Looking up inside the door there was no sign that it had ever been drilled.

Throw it on. Cars look funny with only a LH.
