Default Custom Vert Speaker Installation and a tip for a Discount Speaker company.

I thought I'd share a couple of pictures of a custom speaker installation I did for a friend and his 68 Camaro Convertible.

First, the front speaker installation. I used my plasma to cut a flat piece of steel out to house a couple of round Kicker 4" coaxial speakers. This piece mounts under the center of the dash under the dash pad, just like on the Mustang.

and then I made some custom enclosures to house the rear 5 1/4 speakers, and we put them in the interior quarters.

I know about the gap...we weren't quite done screwing in the panel.

I hope you don't take this is a sales pitch. I have no interest in this company or sales, I am only interested in passing along this information to the VMF members because I was so impressed with their offerings and prices.

How about this link, I use them for awesome name brand speakers. MBQuarts, component speakers, infinity kappa, kicker, JBL, Rockford Fosgate, individual speakers, and awesome prices!!

How do the 2 4" sound next to each other in the dash? I planned to do this in my dash and was told there would be no sound seperation and I'd get strange sound from them (reverbe or echoing, something like that) vs. a single dual coil speaker.
Just wondering how the sound is from the front.

To answer your question, the front speakers do not have any reverb or echo, or sound "strange" in any way.

I wouldn't even consider a single dual coil speaker. I would say neither my set up or the dual coils would have much stereo separation at all, but they do pick up the sound in the front. My friend's original radio only had one speaker under the dash pad, a paper cone speaker for the am radio he had. Now he has an amp in the trunk powering a 10" sub woofer the two 5 1/4 speakers in the rear quarters and those 4 inch speakers under the dash all driven by a little MP3.

When it comes time to put a stereo in Dirty Harry, my 67, I will put the dual 4 inch speakers in mine too.
