60's 4 speed trannies

I've aquired some older transmissions. A 4 speed toploader, a 3 speed toploader and some other type of 4 speeds. A tranny guy said they were Dagheims, daugheims or something like that. Does anyone know the correct name? They may be from 65 Mustangs, or Falcons, or who knows. I'm trying to find out more about them. Thanks

1971 Spring Sport Special.
1969 Fastback, 408ci, 5 Speed.
1971 Mach 1, M code, ram air, 4 speed, loaded.

Dagenham of England made the 4spd for a lot of English Fords and the I6 4spd Mustang...they are pretty crappy, but the parts are hard to come by; so long as you can find someone that wants one or needs parts, you can sell them.

The squirrels in my head have spoken.
Cobra 5.0L & AOD swap, here we come.

Actually, they're pretty bullet proof, for the cars they were intended for, like the Cortina, Anglia, Capri, etc. The cars had motors less than 1800 cc's or so and even when modified for racing, putting out something in area of 200 hp, they still held up well. I think they were borderline for the I6 Mustang due to the torque.

Yeah, the Dagenham was pretty good, offered from 64-66, and at that time was the only way to get a fully-synchronized manual trans in a 6 cylinder. Since they were only used in fairly rare 4-speed 6 cylinder Mustangs and Falcons for only a few years, internal parts are very hard to come by. Clutches, slip yokes, speedo cables, shifters, are no problem.

MANY years ago, I bought a 6 cylinder with the Dagenham attached, with shifter, everything, etc. for $75 and put it in my 1965 coupe. I later raced that coupe, legally, on the strip for several years in NHRA, with a VERY modified 6 cylinder 3 carb set up, and it's best time in the 1/4 was 13.87.

I never had any issue with the transmission.

I've decoded the trannies and they are from 65-66 Mustangs with 170 and 200 ci engines
