Default 67 coupe special paint "Cream"

Hi Guys!!

My name is Michael an i'm 41 years old and from germany. My profession
is travel agency agent here in germany.

We're driving a 67 coupe that comes from an old car dealer in the netherlands, the car was produced in San Jose and was located in the
bay area for 40 years.

Because of the missing color code we sent a paint chip to Marti Auto Works, we got the marti report who told us the car has the color "Cream"
Ford #MX702587.

The DSO on the data plate is 721343. I searched for some informations
about the color, but i haven't found anything.

Maybe someone has got more informations for me.

I'm no color expert, but in looking at a few sites that I could find there wasn't a cream anywhere.

Sorry... http://www.lovefords.org/tech/Vin/paint/ford/67_f.htm is a good example of all Ford colors and there isn't a cream on the page.

Good luc!

Do you have a Marti Report for your 1967 Mustang? It should specify the original color code. There is no 'Cream' listed for '67 models on the Mustang codes listing. The closest I could find to Cream is Pebble Beige for that year.
Can you lift the carpeting in your car? Perhaps there is original painted areas to give an indication.

Hi Neil!!

Thanks for answering. We have already sent a paint chip (found under the rear seat) to marti and they told us the Special paint is called "Cream".

But i can't find any information about this Special Paint.

The DSO 72xxxx indicates a San Jose special order. The MX means it was a non-Ford color.

MX702587 does not appear on this site, one of the most extensive I have seen.

"MX702587" Paint Color Codes - Cross-Reference

But it does note two MX paints as "Cream" for Ford as MX701906 and MX702728...

Do you have a Marti report and does it call out anything other than "special paint", like a WTxxxx code? The reality is if the buyer wanted it painted to match almost anything Ford would buy from any vendor or even mix a color to suit...

Awesome color!

Edit (I'm bad, saw the above comment too late, that would make it WT1077, at least in 1971)

We couldn't find anything on MX702587 in creating our ever-growing paint database at MustangAttitude.com but most MX coded special order paints used on Mustangs during that time period were earlier Corvette paints. I bet MX702587 it is 1965 Corvette GoldWood Yellow (see link http://www.vettefacts.com/images/196...e-corvette.jpg) which was also a standard GM color in 1964.

Hi Guys

Thanks a lot, good work. I searched really nearly 2 years here in germany for
more information about the color. I got only information about a color called cream
wich was produced in 1964 1/2 and 1965, but looks a little bit different.

That makes the stang to a very special car, we'll protect the car with our life...lol.

Is there a probability to get more information about the special order number??
May be how many cars were painted in that color (marti has only the whole number of cars with a special paint, but not how many cars of of each color were build).

The best will be to try to speek with the further owner, i found the name at the american title but there is no telefone number to find.....

Best wishes for christmas from germany

Michael

Default Paint Code Needed

Michael,
Use Sherwin-Williams 1722 or Ditzler 81628 or Dupont 7175. Hope that helps.

Fröhliche Weihnachten!

Hi Kevin!!

Thanks a lot for the paint numbers!!

Do you think there is an opportunity to get more informations about the total number of cars that were painted in "Cream" and by the way to get more information about
the San Jose special order 721343?

Michael,
721343 was a special order for 5 Cream Mustangs placed by one dealer. Unfortunately, no other information exists. Es tut mir leid.

Default 1967 special order "CREAM" GTA

Hi, I too have a special order "cream" paint car. It's a 1967 GTA convertible with black standard interior. The paint code on the door tag is also missing but the dso is 167075.
I'm lucky enought to have the buck tag, and it says special paint on it.

The buck tag says

D 248
26. F21. 7T03Axxxxxx
76A. SP PAINT. 2A
ET. TC. -R. PIO. DB
TOP-2. MX708778

I'm told the mx708778 is the cream paint code. The weird thing is that in the taillight panel there are two holes on the lower left side between the taillight and the gas cap, almost looks like it was for an emblem? They are original.

Can anyone tell me more of what I have, and how rare, or was it a promotional car. Dso is Philadelphia.
