Default Anybody ever use Northern Tool welder?

Considering buying Northern Tool welder. It seems to have great reviews. Mostly want to use for floor pan work on my 69 Mach 1. Any thought pro/con?

Spend an Extra $180 and get at least a Hobart 140 Handler MIG.

I know several people that come into my work place and say they have and use this model and they love it. I have it also I just got to wait until the weather gets warmer so I can work out in the garage to use it.
It is more then you will ever need to do work on your car.

My friend has one from them (older version) and it works great for light work and "car guy" use. He used it for his street rod and no problems. Good price

Alright, I'll see if I can pass on this deal to a VMFer.

You'd be much better off going with something name-brand. They're most likely more reliable, more tested, and easier to get parts for.

Your link is for an off-brand at $300 plus shipping. I checked shipping to my zip and it was $30. So now we're looking at $330.

I just bought this a lincoln 115v 140amp with the same accessories and a 3 year warranty directly through lincoln for $400 with free shipping. To look into that:

1. Click t61 - Bing

2. Click on the sponsored link at the top for www . ebay . com it says "Bing cashback"

3. When you get to ebay, look for the item number 300378451341, which is this auction ( LINCOLN SP140T MIG WELDER K2688-1 Reconditioned! - eBay (item 300378451341 end time Feb-14-10 14:01:38 PST))

4. Now you're looking at the lincoln MIG, factory reconditioned with a 3 year warranty. At the very top by the ebay logo, you will see it says "Microsoft Cashback 10%"

5. Buy-It-Now

6. Pay with PAYPAL(This is required for the microsoft/bing cashback program)

7. When you're done, check your ebay inbox and there will be a message about setting up your cashback account. Once this is done your 10% cashback will be deposited into your paypal account.

Don't believe me? Look here, it's discussed on Ebay's page:

eBay

Thanks
-Matt

Go with a name brand, trust me. And make sure the wire feed and amperage is infinitely adjustable.
