Default 1965 Door Bottom Replacements

I know there are several threads addressing OEM vs. repro doors and fit. Both my doors are rotted on the bottom. This is not the bottom of the outer skin but the very bottom horizontal section of the doors. I have seen many repro door skins and patches, but are there any reproduction parts available for the bottom of the doors? Other than that area, there is little damage to these doors.

I had the same problem with mine. Last weekend I performed a "patch" job on the door bottoms. Basically cut thin aluminum strips to match the width of the bottom section. Applied roof sealer to the strip side facing up and pop rivited them on into good metal. I then applied some insulation tape along the strips to act as a cushion against the door sill.

You can then paint to match but I didn't see the need ...who see's it?

I have never seen a patch for the are you describe. If the doors are really bad I would look for replacements. I patched the bottoms of mine but the rust was small and I was able to just weld in small patches. You could also look for a door that has a bad skin but a good bottom to get your patch panel from. When/if you cut the rust out I always use my mini blaster to blast and paint then inside before I weld my patches in. HTH
