Default Fender front splash shield rubber attachment help needed.

You probably thought I was going to ask how to attach the rubber to the splash shield but I wasn't.

I already did that, the question is why don't so-called splash shield rubber seal kits for 67/68 come with the plastic clips that attach the short rubber strip to the front splash shields?!

There's the long strip that you have to staple to the shield and then there's the shorter piece that clips to the shield and the fender bucket with plastic weatherstrip clips.

I called NPD to get them to send me the clips and the guy acted like I was crazy, said they don't carry them, and stated that I was the first to ever ask for them.

So where do I get them? My car only came with one set of 5 (barely). The remnants of what I'm talking about is in this pic (clips sticking through the rubber piece at the top):

The complete splash shield is supposed to look like this:

Awesome! Thanks dalorzof! Also, thanks for taking the time to take those fender measurements. I appreciate it.

Original sheet metal is worth saving....if you know how!! Your fender repairs are a terrific example of doing same. Great workmanship! Your BlogSpot is a great tool for anyone attempting a restoration like yours!

Glazier Nolan stocks those plastic pins. And they won't act like you're crazy, even if you are.

Just remember, if you order from AMK, the minimum order is $25.00

I think I'm going to hook up with Glazier Nolan (MustangBarn.com?). Thanks!
