Same bulb is listed for auto shifter light. Here's a link from Virginia Mustang, the number in their part number is the bulbs number #1893.

GB-
Ironically, I just picked one up yesterday at the local NAPA store (not sure what you have down there). I'm showing it's a bulb #1895.

My NPD and MU catalogs each list #1895 for glove box. You would need to do some research to find wattage.

Just got a bright (excuse the pun) idea. Looked in my 68 owners manual. It shows each bulb and the cp (candle power) rating. The 1895 is 2 cp. You can probably google for a conversion factor to convert cp to watts.

Thanks fellas. I'll have to do the candlepower conversion thing as they're all in watts down here in NZ.......Wouldn't want to shove a "candle" in there the cardboard liner would probably go up (grin).

It appears that some vendors list it generically for many diff cars. Soooo I looked in my Ford shop manual. On page 15-44 it lists all the bulbs for the diff cars it covers (mustang, Mecury intermidiate, fairlane). For Mecury's, Falcon, Fairlane's it lists "glove compartment" using the 1895, which is 2 candlepower, but for Mustangs, it lists # 1445 1.5 candlepower. Either would do I guess, but that's what the Ford shop manual lists.
