Default 1967 - 1970 Mustang power steering setup (PICTURES)

Some one probably has done this already... but I thought it would be cool to post some pics of the setup in person and not a book for anyone wit questions. My mustang shop manual doesn't have an exact power steering duplication, but this is the correct way (I didn't use the book ;P )

Don't mind the standard color spindles, I painted them after this pic, lol.

Many thanks for posting these! I'm just starting restoring my 1970, what color should the spindles be?

Looks good. Great pics! One thing. If it was in the far right turn position maybe the frame mount end of the assist cylinder would show. Otherwise super!

Great pics. Thanks.

May I ask where your purchased the parts and if you were happy with the supplier?

Great Pictures---We all thank You for doing this, showing the original Power Steering as it should be displayed.

Nice pics. Seeing this makes me want a rack and pinion though.

Thnx for the positive responses guys. I was really just wanting to help clear it all up. I left one side fo the suspension intact for reference early on as I noticed the power steering options in books and sites are a lil off or not 100% there. Dan, your site has helped taking this stuff apart, lol. That steering box is off of a '68 with the collapsible column. As thats the column I am going with. Everyone knows the '67 will have the gigantic steering shaft hanging out ;P

I will post more pictures as I go with the control arms and spindles... I already of the drivers side up.. These are all scott drake and flaming river stuff (however I will never buy a flaming river column or an ididit - stock is best!)...

I got all my stuff from a local provider, Mustang Depot, they ship out of state and out of country. They're service and support is 50/50.. some days its a miss, some days its on. Their hard to find stuff is always back ordered... Like those Spindles I had to get used (to hunt down '67 V8 spindles is tough)....

Hey "1313" Where in Vegas are you? I am also in Vegas off 215/Eastern...

I painted them a Semi Gloss Black as I was reading thats the factory ford suspension color...

I have been using...
ALL RUTOLEUM...
Engine Enamel Semi Gloss Black 500 degree... Rust-Oleum 248936
Engine Enamel Primer (gray) 500Degree... Rust-Oleum 49410
And for undercoat.. Rustoleum Professional Grade, Corrosion and Rust protection Rust-Oleum 248656

don't know where you read that about the color but it is not correct. steering parts were not painted.

I read it awhile ago on Modded Mustangs before I found this site.

I was slight hesitant to believe it, as my factory stuff isn't painted, but my car has been modified a few dif ways. But the black looks a lil cleaner in my opinion any ways.
