Did you do some serious research about that Thumpr cam? If you haven't, I highly recommend you do so. And not just the ads from the manufacturer. Cruise through engine building and performance forums (to include the 351 Cleveland forum, even though you're not building a Cleveland.)
I admit I'm not an expert. But when you talk to people who build engines to actually run well, nobody likes the Thumpr. All indicators suggest the Thumpr is a special purpose cam designed for street rodders who just want their engines to sound really "mean". (Personally, I think the Thumpr makes a V8 sound like an old, John Deere tractor. Apparently, it's a grind with extreme overlap.)
Yes, I'm sure a Thumpr cam will make better power than a typical, factory cam. But there are just so many better choices out there. I don't know what cams Tuff Dawg offers, but dollars to doughnuts they offer the Thumpr because a lot of people buy into the hype and ask for one.
Again, do a lot of research. And, if you still want that cam, then, by all means go with it.

I've done research on this cam and have come to the conclusion that it's a love it or hate it cam. I personally like the way it sounds on older muscle cars. I figured if I don't like it, I can always replace it. It's only gonna be a weekend fair weather driver anyway.

For what it's worth I took my 2007 Shelby GT500 to the Dyno. I was flabbergasted when it made sub 400hp. I know the drill. Parasitic losses and all that but 380 someodd HP? Really bothered me. I don't think I will dyno another car. If it feels good I will leave it alone Peter

I was told the motor will be shipped out by Friday. Can't wait but I still have a lot of work to do before I'm able to put the new engine in.
Graywolf - I was thinking about the Ford Racing crate engine but I still would've have had some extra costs (i.e. flexplate, intake, etc). The Tuff Dawg crate seemed much more easier and less expensive. I'm on a really tight budget for this build. lol
jdub - I don't hold too much faith on those dynos. My friends 9 second Fox body didn't even dyno 400 hp. The only thing those dynos are good for is tuning in your set up. IMHO
67stang67 - I have manual brakes

It's kinda hard for me to have a whole lot of faith in the dyno's when I saw my friends car run high 9's to low 10's a week after it was dynoed at under 400 rwhp. They are good if you want to tune your engine. This same 9sec car first dynoed under 350hp. By the time they were done tuning, he gained almost 50 more hp. Dyno's are very good for tuning purposes. Some dynos are different. He might have had a more respectable number on a different dyno. Who knows
