Default Time To Decide On Paint Color

Hey. It is getting to that time were my car will be making the trip to the paint booth shortly. So my car is a 65 coupe with a black vinyl top and black interior. My question is i am looking for a vintage burgundy but i am also looking at other colors similar to it like maybe a little brighter or darker. Things like maroon and some other dark colors or maybe some a little lighter. So can you guys post some pictures of various vintage burgundy looking colors and their code for house of kolor or ppg. Thanks

There are so many colors that come close to Vintage Burgundy that it's hard to choose. Keep an eye out when driving and make a note as to make of car. Jeff T. a resident of San Jose, has a beautiful 67 fastback, had his car painted a MBenz shade of a maroon or whatever. It comes close to vintage burgundy but it is richer.

Just go with the correct color. VB in BC/CC is hard to beat. You can't appreciate the depth of the metallic by looking at your old paint. And metallic sheen is impossible to see on an internet photo, it has to be seen in person.

well like it has been mentioned a couple of times on here with the vintage burgundy when you do it in 2 tone you get kinda of a purple rather than a mixture of black and red. I have personally seen this many times. i might go with that or something lighter like a maroon but probably not something darker.

Vintage Burgundy with a black top is a very sharp combo. If it looks purple, that usually means the mix was off. You're not talking about painting it two-tone, are you?

On my last project and current one this was a tough decision. I just ended up going with period correct to force myself to limit choices.
