That's what I went with...ended up with the two row summit direct fit. It showed up yesterday and other than some bent fins which I plan to straighten out, it looks great.
Installation of it, new thermostat housing, new thermostat and a Tefba should happen tomorrow.
Hurst shifter showed up and I plan to have that installed in the next few weeks.

I think you're looking at his join date, not the post date.
Holy three year old post Batman!

Get new wheels asap, i personally like 17x8 with 4.75-4.71 backspace but always wanted to try a 17x9 5.5" bs wheel on rear of 65-66 with 255/40/17, look into coys wheels, b/g rod works old school, showwheels streeter and if course american racing. 15x7 mag 500 or styled steel wheels are cool but not as cool as a 17" 5 spoke wheel.
No I want magnum 500 or ss wheels. No oversized stuff for me.

Here is what some of the fins looked like when I took it out!
Here's the intake once I cleaned off the old gasket material.
And here's my shiny new rad, thermostat housing, and tefba filter installed
I'm running a 50/50 mix with a bottle of water wetter
test run tomorrow to see how it works, unfortunately by the time I was ready to drive it amidst many interruptions yesterday, I had out of town family show up to visit. So I never got to it. And I'm at work all day today.
So keep your fingers crossed that nothing leaks, kinks, bursts, or otherwise screws up for me tomorrow

Interior - Replace floorpans (in progress), new carpet, tilt column, new steering wheel
Exterior/Body/Performance: Windshield (in progress), New cowl (in progress), weatherstripping, power steering
-Flushed coolant system with prestone flush and distilled water
-Removed crankshaft and water pump pulleys and fan
-Drill wirebrushed them all, stripping to base metal
-Reprimed and repainted with high temp engine paint
-Removed old cast iron water pump (inside of it was purty nasty!)
-Installed edelbrock 8841 aluminum water pump with new gasket and blue rtv
-Reinstalled pulleys and fan
-Reinstalled aluminum radiator (first one I got from summit leaked, this one was a replacement)
Here is a pic of the newly painted pulleys, fan and the new water pump...compared with the pic from above it looks much nicer to me. Gonna mess with that upper hose some, not a huge fan of how severe that curve to the tefba is. Think I just need to slide it down farther on the thermostat housing, think that's what I'd done before.
Still needs some work but she is getting there!

This morning I dropped her off at my buddy's place, he is going to install the hurst shifter for me. Also have a shroud and overflow tank I'm waiting to install, I don't think the shroud I have is gonna work with my fan.

+1 on the Magnum 500's!
MustangsUnlimited has a wheel and tire package where they will mount and balance BF Goodrich Radial T/As on Magnum 500s and shipping for a set of 4 is like $30. You just pull them out of the box and bolt them on.
I got the 15x8s for rear and 15x7s in the front - They look AMAZING on the car! Love it!

Wow, that looks great! I am jealous - you do nice work!
Thank you! It was a fair amount of elbow grease. The pulleys took forever to wire brush but I don't have the cash for new ones right now so this will do until then.

Pics incoming of the short shift hurst...we took the competition plus shifter I purchased from a VERY kind forum member here and installed it, then cut down the arm on it because I was smacking my hand into the radio shifting into third lol.
Unfortunately she's still sometimes popping out of third so it looks like the tranny rebuild is gonna need a sequel in order to replace that third gear..no biggie, buddy said he won't charge me any extra labor since he feels he should have picked up on it during the original rebuild.
My next plan is to save up all my pennies, dimes, and christmas presents in order to get a power steering system for the mustang and some better wheels.

Today I put a new lock in the trunk, as the old one was missing parts including the retaining pin...which unfortunately led to the whole cylinder falling out when my buddy was driving it lol. Picked up the whole rear lock kit from CJPP and installed it today.
Also had to charge my battery...did an alternator test and seems it is going byebye.
Anyone have a suggestion for a good one to replace it with?

Today I took the visors and assemblies out, broke them apart, and polished the metal up with barkeepers friend. The chrome has bubbled/pitted in a few spots but it's not nearly enough for me to want to spend cash to replace it when I have the originals right there, so I went ahead and just fixed em up and put em back in.
My next project is going to be removing the tail light bowls and cleaning out the rust from inside of them, replacing the gaskets on them, and painting them white (on the inside).
