Can I do that without getting blasted? LOL Having looked at it more, I agree that the workmanship is incredible. It'll be interesting to see if it's actually drivable or just a museum piece.

Years ago I cut up a real Mach 1 to make a race car: shoot me (wouldn't do it again, now)
There is a numbers matching 428 69 in my area for only $15k so you can still get one if your willing to restore
I'm with FastWilly as an owner of 3 this year.....They are still rusting in yards, just check out FleaBay.
And though (esp rims) I might have chosen different directions in a few areas like a narrower hatch, it was well executed. If they could build it for under $75k, I'd consider one. I also have dreamed of a midengine Mustang and with a V8 914 in the barn have some spec's to work off some day in the future, though certainly milder in intent and execution to this.
No replacement for the beauty of a GT40, but KUDOS to them for effort and seeing it to the end. Congrats on the awards and I'll gladly pilot that car with my boys on PS3 in the future against their import rice burners If this helps keep our vintage cars in the heart and a glimmer in the eyes of our youth...........success to their build.

Quality of craftsmanship does not equal beauty. I've seen a ton ugly low riders and ricers that the craftsmanship and quality of work was top notch.

2 years of hard labor later
i saw this car in person and followed the build, one word, outstanding craftsmanship this is one of the most elaborate builds i have ever seen. easily had to cost 500 grand or more to do this car up.
the level of skill those guys got is just over the top and much respect to them.
the big question is How the Hell does it really drive? I would like to know or go for a ride in it to see if it drives like a supercar or just a bad protouring build with tons of rattles and no refinement.
but all in all this was a super challenging build and i really think its wild.
Yes the WHEELS SUCK and do nothing for this car why they choose such a stupid design is beyond me, throw some Forgelines on their and call it a day.
Since there are plenty of other pics posted, I didn't bother.
If one looks closely, the rims are representative of the original chrome rims found on the '69s. It was a fair attempt. I met the gentleman that did the work and he assured me, there wasn't much worth saving on the original Mustang. Granted it probably could have been saved, but he who has the cash makes the plan.
Overall, I thought it was a quality job with interesting, if not perfectly suited for all tastes results. My only change? GT Blue with white racing stripes, what else??
My first reaction to the finished car is,"Why did the do that to a classic" ? The rear end is terrible ! I'll take my plain jane Mach 1 any day over this !
