My 67 coupe has FORD on the hood, MUSTANG on the trunk and both fenders, as well as the 289 Pony emblems. If you were gonna do a delete of some of those, which would you keep and which would you remove? Not going concours here but not a restomod.

I left mine off! Ponys, letters, words, chrome scoop and also rocker molding. It's my car...
Oops also front chrome bumper guards.

I'd remove the hood/trunk letters (I hate waxing between letters and always have dried white wax there) but I'd probably keep the front fender emblems just because they give engine size designation. Yeah it's not easy to wax around those either but it's 2 pieces vs. 11 indiv. letters.
If someone doesn't know what the car is w/o the 'FORD' and 'MUSTANG' they'll ask and now you've got a conversation going about mustangsJon

What you keep on the car is entirely up to you, as it's your car. My personal preference is to keep all emblems/badges/letters (yep, I'm old school).
+1.........

Took all that bling off my 64 1/2 (in my sig) when it was less than 6 months old. I have a framed "plack" in my office. The pic on my sig page with the hood F O R D above it, the V289 to the left and the pony and Mustang script below it. These are like new original bling. Sold the like new rocker moldings after they sat in the store room for about 15 years.

Personally I like them on. To me it shows that the owner put forth the effort to install them. I like the clean "shaved" look, but everyone does it now, probably because it's the easiest route.
But like mentioned, each to their own....it's your car.
