Plan on watching it all the way thru before I start rebuilding... Maybe by then the dial indicator I ordered from Harbor Freight will be here...

I was wondering if you were still planning on tackling it. Mine was rebuilt back in the early 80's but the car wasn't driven much since then. I was debating whether or not to let a transmission shop look at it before I put it back in or have a go at it myself. Standing by and wishing you luck with yours.

War, I've heard good things about bad shoe, but, I gotta tell ya, I wouldn't even THINK about rebuilding a C4. If you're an auto trans kinda guy, get an AOD instead. The C4 should be a museum piece only. LSG

I used the Badshoe video for my T5 and had no issues whatsoever. Ken does a great job of explaining things as well as providing tips to make things easier. I have watched the C4 video and it is of the same quality. Good stuff no doubt and my trans shifts like butta!

Does anyone know how much it costs to rebuild a C4? I can get mine rebuilt for $500 locally, but I would love to save the cash and build it myself.

+1 on the c4 vs aod. I'm updating mine to aod and got the bad shoes aod vid. The aod really opens up more options, keep the gearing the same, get better mpg on the freeway, drop the gears and get more street performance.

You should be able to get an AOD core for cheap and the overall cost to rebuild shouldn't be that different.

Hey Guys,
Does the Bad Shoe vid cover the known upgrades to improve the C4s performance and reliability?
