Try Hot wiring the car if you still have the points dist. in there just to see if it starts. Run a wire from the hot side of the battery over to the + side if coil. You should get sparks at points for sure then. If it ran before and you have spark and gas in it i don't see why it wouldn't start. Make sure you don't forget and leave the jump wire on there if your not trying to start it etc.....PS---you can jump it over at the solenoid to start it also with the hot wire on. You don't even need your key on. If it does start hot wiring it you must not have power coming from your switch to the coil.

I did a 3G alt conversion also and used the pa performance wire kit and there voltage regulator. Any chance that could have anything to do with it?
Or
Maybe the starter or starter wire somehow?

okay, looks like I have spark from coil to dist. and from dist to plugs. at least the no. 1 plug. I will need to check them all. engine still not trying to fire but looks like I have spark. If I have spark at all plugs I would assume the engine would try to start? even if timing is way off the engine will try to start and just backfire through carb etc,

Update. Have spark from coil to dist. And from coil to plugs an least the one i checked. Going to put the electronic stuff back in and fresh plugs that aren't soaked with gas. I'm thinking this was a ground issue and then issues with the old points dist when i switched back to that set up. And know fouled plugs.
Fingers crossed for this weekend

Have spark again. Still no starting. I am getting gas. Which takes me to no air. Something got messed up on the Edelbrock carb when I hit the gas last time and I'm not getting air. It is trying know but something is messed up with carb, like the butterflies are stuck shut or something.

Up an running again with the pertronix flamethrower ii dist in but a standard coil. The pertronix coil is bad. Found a bad starter cable. Starter went out also. Carb butterflies got stuck shut some how also.
I'm not sure why that coil went out I suppose it is because it was bit getting a full 12v when running since I still have resistor wire ?
