Default Possible Bad Vacuum Advance

I have a 65 Mustang with the 200 engine. I have been trying for several months to solve a problem I have after the car has been driven for about 20 or 30 minutes it will stall when stopped.
The car has a new carburetor, ignition coil, condenser, cap, rotor, spark plugs and wire, fuel pump. I can't figure out what the problem is to save my life.
Someone on this forum said that it could be a bad vacuum advance. How do I test this? I read where you are suppose to suck in on the line and see if the plate moves, I tried that and nothing moves on mine. I can even disconnect it and nothing changes with the way the engine runs.

My next problem is I can't even find the correct vacuum advance if I wanted to change it. The number on the distributor says FOMOCO 12127 and I think before that it has a C70 but the number is so difficult to read so I'm not sure.
Here is a picture of my distributor and the vacuum advance. Can anyone tell me if this could be causing my stalling issue and also try to identify this vacuum advance?

I posted a link on your other thread, it is a video that shows you how to check the vacuum and mechanical advance. Here is the link again

I can't find the correct vacuum advance that is on my car!
The first picture is a vacuum advance from a 1967 Mustang. This one is missing the nipple at the end where the vacuum hose connects to.

The second picture is from a 1969 Mustang and looks almost identical to mine, EXCEPT where it has that gold nipple that sticks out on the side. Mine does not have that but other than that, it looks the same as mine.

Can someone please help me find the correct vacuum advance so I can buy one.

Oddly enough, I was tinkering with the vacuum advance on mine this afternoon (I have a '65 with the 200 as well).

Here is a link to a vacuum advance that looks exactly like the one on my car...

That's ironic that you were messing with yours today. Mine looks nothing like that. Mine looks just like this one, except it doesn't have that gold nipple sticking out of the side.

You already have the nipple on your old vacuum advance. Unscrew it and put it on the new one.

Hey Chris,

I am no expert but the following vacuum advance looks real similar to the one I see in your photo.

Nope, That's not it. The bolts are across from each other and my unit curves at the end so the bolt pattern is different
I've spent an hour online looking for the one like mine.

Well, it couldn't have been for a Cougar, since Cougars were never offered with six cylinder engines. I have, in the past, replaced the hard line style 1965-66 vacuum advance modules with the nipple style units, probably listed for a 1967 six cylinder Mustang. The 1968 and up units will also work, if the bolt-on pattern is the same as yours. As for the two vacuum nipples, simply plug or ignore the inner nipple and only use the outer. Your pic would certainly lead me to believe that your module is toast. The whole distributor innards really need to be cleaned up.
Best,
Al

I finally found my Vacuum Advance after searching through over 200 pictures on AutoZone's website. Of course not a single part store has the thing in stock so I am going to have to order it.

Attached is the picture of mine.

Also, is the picture I found of what looks to be the one I need. This is from a 1971 Mercury Comet with a 250.
