Default Electric fuel pump pre-filter?

Well my holley blue started leaking from the vent holes & after some Internet research it was laid to rest. I picked up a holly HD 125 because of its quieter gerotor design. The instructions recommend a 80-100 micron pre-filter, but I'm having issues getting everything mounted and below the fuel level. My old pump was mounted between the tank and differential with no pre-filter. Can anyone running a pre-filter and similar pump share some pictures of their set up? Or should I forgo the pre-filter? My original holley blue set-up ran since 2002 with no problems. Thanks for any help.

Afrett,
Your set up is how I was planning on running mine, but I'm having trouble finding a similar size pre-filter that is 100 microns. Is yours a Mallory? If so I could only find a 40 micron which would void the warranty.
Cool sending unit by the way is that a -8 return line.

The 40 micron filter will filter more dirt than the 100 micron (40 micron particles are smaller than 100 micron particles). The only way it might cause problems is if it got clogged and starved the pump and it overheated.

Ozarks06,
According to Aeromotive & Holley anything lower than 80 microns as a pre-filter affects the gravity feed to the pump. 40 and lower should go after the pump. Check out the link good info
