Default Hurst Shifter Boot over Original ...

Has anybody used a Hurst shifter boot over the original ? So you'd actually be using two boots...
Seems to fit okay and I would imagine that it would cut out a lot of the noise coming from this area .

This is what I did. A guy could probably glue this boot under the aluminum hurst shifter frame. Would fit over the hurst boot too I would assume.

I tried fitting the Hurst boot over the factory boot and it does fit if you slightly bend the chrome Hurst trim. The Hurst boot holds the factory boot down really tightly as well . I fired up the car and the difference is very noticeable . It's probably not as effective as installing the lower boot , but a whole lot quicker and easier .

I've told people how much quieter it is with upper and lower boot, usually they don't believe me, until they do it themselves. I was amazed, 20+ years ago, when I replaced my long-missing lower boot.

There is a lower boot for the Hurst, but it's designed for the larger 69-73 floor hole, and would fit poorly in the 64-68 hole.
