Default 1965 FoldDown, Troubleshooting Install. NEED HELP!

I am installing/Refurbing my Fold Down and...

My interior lower quarter panels are fiberglass aftermarkets and they are not fitting quite well. Took some pictures where i am having the most trouble. Need help getting them to fit. Both get in but are a weird fit, which fit is correct?

My 3 Piece fold-down is not sitting completely level. Not sure if this is common and I have seen the shims that are used but i am just unsure if this is what i need to do.

Any help is great, Pictures are even better.

(And as always if this has been posted somewhere please point me in the right direction.)

The originals don't fit real well, either... You need to screw them all in to see how they REALLY line up...

And yah, you have to shim it all to fit, too.

I had to redrill the brackets in a few spots to get mine to fit back in the way they should. There was no way that they fit as good as they do now from the factory. Without seeing it first hand, I would suggest keep tweeking at it.

Well heres the question, Which one (Left or right) seems to be a more correct fit? I have no issue cutting drilling and maybe doing a little fiberglass work. BUT! I dont know which side needs cutting. Notice the bracket all the way forward at the top, notice the difference where the panels meets on either side. Which is sitting correctly?

What pieces should i test fit to ensure a good fit(What other pieces will tell me im getting close to a good fit)?

And on the folddown, what side need to be shimmed? Because the fold up/down piece is sitting higher than the piece that stays flat. (Note: The two brackets the fold down screw into were made and welded into the car,Maybe too far up/back?)

Thanks again for help!
