Default Cap, wires, and rotor recommendations

Are the off the shelf distributor cap, wires, and rotors available at AutoZone, Pep Boys, Napa, etc. all basically the same and just fine for everyday use? I don't have a trailer queen, but I enjoy daily cruises. So I need the right parts that work, not necessarily stamped and colored perfectly like the factory.

Pertronix makes some nice stock looking wires. The NAPA echlin caps and rotors are quality parts with brass contacts. Whatever you get look for the brass contacts.

I prefer the NAPA variety with the brass terminals.

I've had good luck with NAPA Echlin ignition products over the years.

+1 with Echlin

about 10 yrs ago bought a set of Bosch wires from AZ and they were real nice for $35 set
I since went with the Flame thrower retro set. didnt notice any diff in perf.

accell makes a decent cap if yuo dont mind brown as well as MSD of you dont mind red.

I didn't know NAPA had the brass contacts also, I normally order in the BWD (BorgWarner) Select brand of cap/rotor/points when needed. THey all have brass contacts to for longer life and better spark than the cheap tin ones on Wells and other brands. My local O'Reilly's gets them in same day/next day at no charge from their warehouse.
