Default headlight buckets installed correctly ??

I put in H4 headlight housings and plan to run some halogen bulbs but when I put the H4 headlight housings in the buckets the tabs on the back of the housings dont fit in the little recessed holes. They will physically fit in there but then the headlights are crooked. I switched the buckets side to side but have the same problem. I wonder if the tabs on the housings are in the wrong location ?

Did you try to match the housing with the stock headlight? They're both 7 inches and should fit with no issues.

The problem I had with modern lights was the back side was too long. I had to trim them with a dremle. I'll try to find some pics this afternoon.

I swapped the buckets side to side thinking I had them backwards but either way the headlight housings dont sit horizontally. I'm guessing the housings are wrong, but want to check my work on the buckets whcih seem to be correct based on the location of the adjusters, springs and notches.

I know what you are talking about. I had the same problem when I installed a set of H4 headlights on my 68. Everything physically fits correctly, however the headlights sit slightly crooked, maybe off by 10-15 degrees rotated. It's barely noticeable so I haven't bothered to do anything about it, but it must be due to the headlights themselves because I know my buckets are unmolested.
